PLATE-MATE

Platemate:
Another term for a mobile plate rack used in professional & commercial kitchens and specifically in the professional vanacular. The term can and is used for other brands of plate trees, but the term and name Plate-Mate belongs specifically to Plate-Mate Inc. While the plate rack has been around literally for "ages", the Plate-Mate design was invented by Arnold Nales of The Netherlands and patented in 1986. Other models were created within Mr. Nales's company (Horena Trading)based upon his original patented plate holding column. The product line was brought to America, Canada, and South America in 1998 by The Product Group Inc. in Canton, Ohio. Smaller versions such as the table top rack can be found in private homes or smaller commercial establishments such as bars, diners, etc.
