Plastered in Paris is the fifth short in the Inspector series of theatrical cartoons. A total of 34 entries were produced between 1965 and 1969. Plot The Inspector and Sgt. Deux-Deux are eating lunch when they receive a call from the Commissioner, ordering them to be on the lookout for a fugitive named "X." They chase him, but get covered with pink laughing gas. They crash, with Deux-Deux breaking his back and the Inspector breaking his right leg. They chase X on a submarine, then head to boiling hot Egypt only to get blown up by a camel, followed by a slow crawl through a sandstorm in the Sahara desert. The Inspector and Deux-Deux trail him up the slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro where they find X at the edge of a mountain cliff. All the while, Deux-Deux complains about having chilblains on his feet. X then leaps down with a parachute. The Inspector watches him with anger, then slips and takes Deux Deux with him. Luckily, Deux-Deux releases a tent, allowing them to fall gently to the ground, but find a beehive and get stung by bees. The two return to the Commissioner admitting defeat when it is revealed the X is actually the Sûreté's new physical training instructor who was giving the Inspector and Deux Deux a workout.
