Pinata games

Pinata Games was an American-based company founded in November 2008 by former WizKids Games Senior Manager of Brand Development and Licensor Relations Jake Theis with help through silent partners. Pinata Games was founded to acquire the rights to the HeroClix game property as well as fill the market void left by the closure of WizKids.
Based out of Seattle, Washington, the game company has spearheaded the Save HeroClix web movement.
With its launch primarily funded with donations by hardcore HeroClix fans, the company has strong ties to and the HeroClix community. Beyond the acquisition of HeroClix, the company has long-term plans to expand as a key player in the hobby gaming industry.
The company is currently seeking additional funding and is conducting industry media interviews.
Alliance
On December 15, 2008, it was announced that Pinata Games has entered a contractual agreement with Catalyst Game Labs, a company bidding for the rights to HeroClix line and with a history of working with WizKids. If the Catalyst Game Labs bid is accepted, Pinata Games will begin production of the next HeroClix set immediately.
