Service Projects
Phi Mu Alpha's philanthropic efforts are broad and far reaching. Mills Music Mission (MMM) is the Fraternity's primary philanthropy and a tradition that dates back to the 1880s. Named after Fraternity founder Ossian E. Mills, Brothers exemplify self-sacrifice through interacting with patients at area nursing homes and hospitals, using the power of music to elevate the human spirit. The Pi Xi chapter also regularly participates in service learning projects through Lee University and raises money for local schools and charities.
Key Accomplishments
On June 6-11 of 2011 members of the Pi Xi Chapter traveled to Cuba where they distributed over $5,000 of instruments and supplies to the National Band of Cuba following a joint concert band performance in the historic Plaza de Armas. These men are believed to be some of the first Sinfonian's to visit the Nation of Cuba.
