Phil Kuehn

Philip Kuehn is a bassist, composer, arranger, and teacher.
Life and career
He was born in Lucernmines, Indiana County Pennsylvania to Jacquelyn and John Kuehn. His mother teaches piano and is the owner and founder of Penn's Acres Kitchen, and his father is a music professor at the Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Kuehn studied formally at Juilliard for his undergraduate as well as graduate work.
Kuehn performs regularly with Jonathan Batiste's Stay Human Band performing around the world and has also performed at such venues as the Howard Theater, the White House, and the Great GoogaMooga. He has performed with such musicians as Wynton Marsalis, Jon Faddis, Slide Hampton, Chris Vadala, Tony Bennett, Jon Faddis, Ellis Marsalis, Christian McBride, Eric Lewis, Brandon Lee, Roger Humphries, Billy Taylor, and Branford Marsalis.
Kuehn currently resides in New York City with his wife and daughter.
