PFP Energy was a British electric power company. It went bust on 7 September 2021 when windpower in the UK was low and electricity prices skyrocketed; the same crisis took out several power companies. The company was based in Preston, Lancashire. It was a non-profit. At the time of its collapse, the company had 82,000 domestic customers and 5,000 non-domestic customers. It was the third company to cease trading in just a few weeks in the UK. British Gas took over the customers left over when PFP ceased trading, on orders from Ofgem. The company was founded in 2014. In 2019, it had 50,000 residential customers and 2,600 commercial customers.
