Peter Hattingh is a writer, director, producer, poet, actor and entrepreneur.
His stage career spans over a decade and boasts impressive production credentials, the likes of William Shakespeare, Athol Fugard and Anton Chekhov. He is a internationally published poet and has written numerous plays.
In 2004 Peter founded Funny Happy People. A specialized art education company. Under his direction the company produced three hugely successful productions; As told by me, As told by me 2 and The Adventures of Nadzikambe the Singing Chameleon. All three productions played to over 50 000 children at schools, venues and festivals across KZN. Peter was invited to perform these productions at the coveted Splashy Fen Music Festival in 2006/7.
After performing for KZN Education M.E.C, Ina Cronje in 2006, Peter was challenged by the Minster to create a program for educators in Kwa-Zulu Natal using Drama within classrooms to further support the curriculum. This challenge gave rise to the Lilly Hattingh Art Education Project in 2007. Peter took up the position of Group Creative Director and General Manger for T-rifik Live Learn Play in 2007, where he oversaw the construction and development of their flagship family theme park at uShaka Marine World, Durban. In heading up the group's creative department, Peter oversaw the re-branding and marketing for the company as well as wrote and directed all its theatre productions and entertainment. Peter currently works as a full time consultant for the company and is in the process of establishing their international franchise. In 2008, Peter re-branded Funny Happy People into Peter Hattingh cc and is currently co-owner, publisher and editor of T-rifik Magazine.
