Peter DiLemma

Drummer/vocalist Peter DiLemma gained musical experience during 1960’s schooldays at Tulse Hill School in South London (also attended by London Mayor Ken Livingstone) where he met singer/guitarist/composer Richard Strange and led to associations with local rock musicians and bands including Great White Idiot and ultimately to the formation with Richard Strange of the influential protopunk art rock band Doctors of Madness(1974-1978) who recorded for Polydor records and toured throughout Europe.
With a style incorporating influences as diverse as Keith Moon of The Who and Maureen Tucker of the Velvet Underground; Peter DiLemma’s drumming skills were developed in the cellar of his home in Brixton, South London, within the pervasive Afro-Caribbean musical culture of the area.
Peter’s atmospheric cellar also hosted the earliest rehearsals of Doctors of Madness, and auditions there led to the recruitment of seminal members, bassist Stoner and violinist/guitarist Urban Blitz.
