Perguruan Pencak Silat Padjadjaran Nasional

Perguruan Pencak Silat Padjadjaran Nasional (also: Padjadjaran; P.P.S.P.N.) is a lineage of pencak silat originating from West Java, Indonesia.
The school was founded on December 12, 1928 by eyang guru K.R.H. Achmad Kartakusuma. The immediate predecessor of P.P.S.P.N. was a traditional style called Pusaka Karahun (meaning ancient relic), but after the death of the Guru Besar (head master) K.R.H. Achmad Kartakusuma did not think himself competent to take over the position of Guru Besar. Eyang Guru searched some years for to improve his skills and explore new skill, he created this new lineage influenced by 5 traditional Sundanese aliran (styles) from West Java:
Cimande, Cikalong, Serak, Syahbandar, Depokan.
This Pencak Silat school currently has branches in Indonesia, Singapore, East Timor and The Netherlands. Its name refers to the Pajajaran kingdom, which was the last of the Hindu potentates to resist the conquests of the Islamic kingdoms in the island of Java.
