PayPoint.net is a wholly owned subsidiary of PayPoint plc, a branded payment collection network.
History PayPoint.net was launched in July 2008 following the re-branding of two of the UK’s leading independent payment service providers, Metacharge and SECPay.
The acquisition of Metacharge and SECPay means that PayPoint.net is able to offer an impressively broad range of payment solutions to suit all online businesses.
Founded in 1998, SECPay was acquired by Paypoint plc in February 2007. Specialising in payment gateways, its 3000+ merchants include a range of small start-ups and established high street brands and charities. SECPay’s infrastructure is capable of handling at least five times the normal transaction level to ensure continuous service and, in 2006, achieved 99.9% uptime - less than 54 minutes offline over the entire year. Established in 2002, Metacharge was acquired by Paypoint plc in November 2006. Its complete payment bureau solutions are utilised by 550+ merchants including ecommerce businesses, charities, online gaming sites, mobile telecoms, dating and lifestyle brands.
Services PayPoint.net enables businesses to accept online payments with their payment gateways and Complete Solutions packages.
Payment Gateways:Payment gateways are offered to all businesses that already hold an internet merchant account with a UK acquiring bank, the Elavon network in Europe or the Paymentech network in the USA. Payment gateways enable merchants to securely process payments between their websites and their internet merchant accounts. Merchants can choose from three packages - Lite, Professional or Enterprise - depending on the size of their business and the volume of transactions that they process.
Complete Solutions:PayPoint.net’s Complete Solutions packages are available to businesses in all industries focussed on ecommerce growth that do not yet have an internet merchant account. PayPoint.net’s in-house risk team assesses each application and, if accepted, submits it on the merchant’s behalf to their acquiring bank partners. Internet merchant accounts that are issued as part of PayPoint.net’s Complete Solutions packages are underwritten by PayPoint.net. The company has a track record of underwriting and supporting start-up businesses that have grown into leading brands for their sector. The Fast Track package is designed for start-up businesses while the Bank Enterprise package is tailored to established businesses with high transaction volumes. Both packages come with a tailored suite of reporting tools and fraud solutions.
