Patrick McClean

Patrick McClean is a defender who plays mostly as but who can also play as . He currently plays for League of Ireland First Division side Waterford where he vice captains the team.
Club Career
Derry City
Patrick stated his career playing with hometown club Derry City. He played with their u19 squad before being named on the bench for the first team against Galway United in February 2015. At the midway point of the 2015 season Championship side Bristol City swopped to sign McClean, after having there first bid was rejected Derry accepted the second offer. McClean's move To Bristol City fell through however and he remained at Derry. He made his competitive first team debut in September 2015 against Shamrock Rovers and he also appeared against Longford Town in the final game of the 2015 season. The 2016 season seen Patrick add 12 more first team appearances and he scored his first League of Ireland goal against Longford Town in a 1-1 draw at the City Calling Stadium. At the end of the 2016 season Patrick went on trial with League One side Walsall, however Patrick didn't sign for the English club.
Waterford
Despite initially agreeing to re-sign for his hometown club Paddy eventually opted for a move to League of Ireland First Division side Waterford. Patrick was announced as vice captain of the club and in the absence of regular skipper David Mulcahy, McClean captained his side on his debut against Athlone Town. On 10 March Patrick scored his first goal for Waterford giving his side the lead against UCD in a 2-0 win.
