P4A - PHP For Applications is a web application framework and RAD for producing event-driven stateful web applications. It is written in object oriented PHP. It is based on Zend Framework and features tableless HTML, multiple databases, accesskey support, auto data type recognition, transparent AJAX, UTF-8, i18n/l10n. P4A is easy to install, portable and modern. It also is one of the most voted PHP Frameworks in PHPMagazine's PHP Frameworks Trends. P4A is used as a base for some other FLOSS projects. Some users are saying that it's lacking documentation. History P4A was started in 2003 and counted more than 200,000 downloads. Some more stats: * Max downloads in a single day: 9,356 (31st May 2006) * Max rank in Sourceforge activity: 8th of more than 100,000 projects (25th, 26th Feb 2007) * Max rank in Sourceforge forum post count: 2nd of more than 100,000 projects (30th Jun 2006) with 168 posts in a week * Awards: Sourceforge.net "2006 Community Choice Awards" (Finalist in the Database and Development categories).
