P. V. Srinijan

P. V. Srinijan is an Indian politician with the Indian National Congress party. He is also the son-in-law of former Chief Justice K.G. Balakrishnan. He has been the subject of high-profile corruption charges and was investigated for owning property disproportionate to his means. The case has garnered media attention given his proximity to the former Chief Justice. Following the allegations, he resigned from the party. His name is also written P. V. Sreenijan.
In 2006, Srinijan had contested unsuccessfully from the SC reserved constituency of Njarackal in Ernakulam.
Srinijan's assets, which did not include any land holdings in 2006, were alleged to have grown by Rs. 7 crores by 2010. According to a report by news channel Asianet News, Srinijan had acquired a large riverside property in Thrissur where an opulent resort called Riverdale was being constructed. He also owned several flats and other property around Ernakulam, which were declared at well below market prices.
In light of the charges, Srinijan resigned from the Youth Congress.
