Ozan Özerk

Ozan Özerk, or Ozan Øzerk, (born 1979, Nicosia, Cyprus) is a Norwegian multi-millionaire medical doctor and entrepreneur of Turkish Cypriot descent.
He co-founded, together with Erling Løken Andersen and Bo Myrås, Norsk Ideutvikling AS which established the social-networking site Biip.no. In 2007, Biip was dubbed the "Norwegian Facebook" because it was a serious contender against the American social networking site Facebook, with 500,000 Biip members compared to 800,000 Norwegian users on Facebook.
In 2018 Özerk launched the European Merchant Bank.
Early life
Özerk was born in Nicosia, Northern Cyprus, however, he moved to Oslo, Norway, at a young age where he grew up. His father, Kamil Özerk, is a professor at the University of Oslo's Department of Education, and his mother, Meral R. Özerk, is a senior advisor at Statped, specializing in children with learning disabilities. She is also the author of several children's books in the field of education, bilingualism and autism.
After serving in the Norwegian Armed Forces, Özerk studied medicine at the University of Oslo between 2001 and 2008. Özerk did his medical internship at Narvik Hospital and later at Bjerkvik Legesenter (General practitioner) 2010 to 2012.

Business career
Özerk has been involved in numerous start-ups from an early age. In 2005, he co-founded Norsk Ideutvikling, an online media company which created the social networking site Biip.no in 2005. In 2008, Biip.no was acquired by Egmont and Nettavisen for an estimated valuation of 100+ million krone.
He then began to focus on the FinTech industry and co-founded Clearsettle in 2016, a London-based white-label B2B card payment and APM platform provider authorised by the UK's Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) as a payment institution.
Özerk founded the European Merchant Bank which was granted its banking license by the European Central Bank in late November 2018. The bank is based in Lithuania and regulated by the Bank of Lithuania.
He also founded OpenPayd in 2018 which is headquartered in The Shard, London, with group companies in the Netherlands, Malta, Bulgaria, Turkey, Singapore, Hong Kong, Brazil and the USA.
Furthermore, he is the founder and owner of EuroTrader, InvestAlgo and RS Positive.

Özerk was previously in a relationship with Aylar Lie.
