Our Flat Earth is a play performed weekly in Chicago, Illinois. Billing itself as a post-modern satire of the intelligent design movement, it is performed by a mostly unknown and fairly secretive comedy duo calling themselves "The Iconoclasts." While the show claims to be a satire, in action it is more of a sketch comedy show, and claims of satire are probably better aimed at theatre and comedy than at intelligent design. The play has been criticized for its unfocused nature, the players take up and abandon routines and characters without any concern, rationale or explanation. Ironically, this criticism is also cited by fans as the show's greatest strength, begging comparisons to pop culture icons such as Family Guy, Stella and Mr. Show, as well as older comedy groups like The Marx Brothers. Our Flat Earth opened in late June 2006 and continues an open run through September 2006 at Prop Theater, in Chicago. Originally slated to run only a few weeks, audience opinions of the show were high enough to overcome a luke warm press reception and extend its performance.
