Orla Olsen

Orla Olsen (31 August 1899 - 13 May 1949) was a Danish long-distance runner. He competed in the at the 1928 Summer Olympics.
Olsen was a member of Idrætsforening Sparta. He participated in the at the 1928 Summer Olympics in Amsterdam, where he did not finish. He reached 2:56.07 in the 1926 marathon in Copenhagen and 3:02.47 in 1927.
Orla Olsen co-founded the in 1940. Until then, he had been the leader of the National Socialist Workers' Party of Denmark, but had resigned because he was opposed to the party being dependent on a certain foreign power. The Dansk Nordisk Front joined on 1 October 1940 together with other organizations to form "The National Block". He was a Nazi gauleiter for Copenhagen. He was found on 30 July 1947 by Swedish police during a raid on a farm outside Visby on Gotland, where he was waiting for transport to Argentina. He was sent back to Denmark, where he died in 1949, aged 49 years.
