Orangehaus Records

History
Orangehaus Records is a student run record label, established in 2003, located on Anderson University's campus in Anderson, Indiana. The label gives students the opportunity to experience the hustle and bustle that is the music industry. They experience firsthand signing, developing, promoting, and marketing new student artist . Considered one of the very few professional record labels associated with a university in the United States, Orangehaus is making a name in the recording industry .
History
Oranghaus was funded through a $25,000 instituted by Dr. Glenn Falls, "professor emeritus of Business and Economics", which is awarded annually to a specific department to fund a worthwhile project . The original idea behind the record label is the duo Dr. Becky Chappell BA ’76 and Dr. Mark Murray, current well-known professors in the music program at Anderson University .
Betsy Walker, was second to be signed on April 11, 2003. Is currently actively involved in the music industry and teaches piano and voice at home .
Following Betsy was the Unusual Mix 2004, Nathaniel Hency in 2005, Leah Ashton in 2006, and Ja’mar in 2007.
When she was signed, Leah Ashton, released a self-titled EP in December 2007. After graduating from AU she still continues creating music and just released an EP independently in April 2010 .
Recent Activity
Orangehaus has recently signed four new student artists: Tyler Ewigleben, Greg Hojnacki, Rob Krosley, and Joshua Powell. They will be working together creating a compilation album in the near future .
Acknowledgements
Orangehaus Records was selected to be listed in Billboard’s "first guide to the nation's music business schools” and was the only school selected from Indiana .
