Openserving is a project owned by Wikia, founded on December 12, 2006. Openserving, like Wikia, offers wiki hosting, but differs from Wikia in that it will supposedly give the founder of the wiki the revenue from the advertising on the site, and unlike other hosts, Openserving doesn't charge for anything. However, nearly a year later, and no sites have actually been launched under the Openserving banner. The project has not issued any press releases since December 2006.
Openserving used a modified version of Wikimedia's Metawiki wiki software created by ArmchairGM, but was going to be branching out to other opensource packages.
