Open-E Data Storage Software V7 (DSS V7) - successor to Open-E DSS V6 - is a Linux-based data storage software used for building and managing centralized data storage servers, Network Attached Storage (NAS) and Storage Area Network (SAN), including Fibre Channel, iSCSI and InfiniBand. The software can be used for storage virtualization and cloud environments. It features Active-active failover for SAN iSCSI volumes, data and volume replication, built-in backup agents, multipath I/O, NICs bonding and more. Open-E DSS V7 is VMware Ready, Citrix Ready and supports Microsoft Hyper-V. With Open-E DSS V7 Lite, up to 2TB of storage capacity can be managed; additional capacity may be purchased. As freeware, it is offered without technical support but users can help each other through the Open-E forum.
