Online coupons work by the same principal as traditional coupons which you would redeem at a retail store. The only difference is that "online" coupons are only redeemable online and are not for in-store purchases. Types of online coupons * Coupon code: When you shop online, some stores may ask you to enter a "coupon code", which may also be referred to as a promotional code, promo code, source code, gift code, or discount code. You will need to enter the coupon code in order to receive the stated discount. In most cases, the coupon code can be entered on the payment information page or order review page. Other times, the code can be entered while in the shopping cart. * Coupon link: A linked coupon does not have an actual coupon code to activate the promotion, but instead a special link.
