Omega Sentinel is a fictional character from the various Transformers universes. Towards the end of the Energon toyline, the Omega Supreme figure was repainted into a unified blue, grey and red color scheme and renamed “Omega Sentinel”, taking the name from the Dreamwave Generation One comics. The character did not appear in the Energon animated series, although there may have been plans for him to appear at one point, as Aaron Archer indicated that it would be the case; multiple sentinels would have appeared under the control of Omega Supreme himself. When he first appears in the animated series, several inactive robotic figures can be seen behind Omega; there is some debate over whether or not these figures were meant to be Omega Sentinels. This is not quite the story put across by Omega Sentinel’s tech spec, however, which presents him to be the leader of these legions, known as the “Guardians of Cybertron.” His only purpose is to protect and defend, and this programming had made him a stoic figure without emotion, who analyzes battle situations with a combination of logic and brute force. Although respected, he is considered boring and over-technical, but Omega Sentinel himself feels that these qualities are a tactical key in battling the Decepticons.
