Omar Al Ashi

Omar Al Ashi (born 1994) is a Jordanian entrepreneur, with Canadian citizenship, residing in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. He is the founder and chief executive officer of peer-to-peer vehicle sharing platform Urent. He has been featured in Arabian Business
Al Ashi has established himself as one of the and regions leading personalities and entrepreneurs who has expanded his career internationally. He is the first Palestinian entrepreneur to initiate the development of the new initiative “Smart Mobility Rentals” with the Road & Transport Authority of Dubai.
Early life and education
Al Ashi, of Palestinian origin, was born in Jordan and spent most of his life in Toronto and Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Omar Al Ashi holds a bachelor's degree in industrial engineering from The University of Toronto, and a Masters Degree in entrepreneurship and leadership. Omar is also listed in the list of . He attended high-school at the International School of Choueifat, in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.
Career
Al Ashi began planning for his career while he was still in high school.
In 2018, he started working on Urent which offered an online marketplace for vehicle rentals, and acts as a marketplace for commercial entities, and individual private owners. Digitalising the vehicle rental industry, with a cashless, seamless, and paperless experience.
In an interview with ArabAd, Omar Al Ashi says," “I am also very proud that by sacrificing and putting my personal backing into the company, I was able to keep my key employees and persevere through massive regulatory challenges. Not only did I sustain the company through the pandemic, but now Urent is the first company of its kind to be licensed by the RTA (Road & Transport Authority).”
