Oliver Campbell Penn (born July 8, 1995) is an American guitarist and singer. Penn is influenced by blues, soul, and jazz music, and his bandmates have classified their sound as "jazz players playing rock". Early life and influences Penn was born in Providence, Rhode Island, but moved to Houston, Texas when he was 12. Around this time he received his first guitar for Christmas. Penn has stated that Stevie Ray Vaughan and Jimmy Reed are his biggest influences, but he also likes jazz and rock, citing "Is This It" by The Strokes as one of his favorite albums. Other major influences include Albert King, Led Zeppelin, Stevie Wonder, Amy Winehouse, and The Notorious B.I.G.. Living in Texas was a major reason why Penn became introduced to the blues/soul sound. Instruments Oliver Penn mainly plays an Epiphone Sheraton.
