Ole A. Nielsen

Ole A. Nielsen is an associate professor of mathematics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario.

Career
A native of British Columbia, Nielsen obtained his B.Sc. and Ph.D. in Mathematics from University of British Columbia (his doctoral advisor was D. Bures, and his thesis was titled Abelian Subalgebras, published in 1968).

Nielsen's main interests are measure theory and fractals. He also expresses an interest in mathematical logic (though he is not pursuing research in this field), and has frequently taught fourth-year seminars in this area.

Nielsen is currently the undergraduate chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at Queen's University.
