Oak Engage is a Newcastle based intranet software company that specialises in creating cloud-based software for businesses to use to enhance employee engagement, store company documentation and distribute internal company news. History Previously known as Orchidsoft, the company was established in 1993 with the intent of developing and selling intranet solutions. In 2016, after seeing a shift in the market towards cloud-based solutions, Orchidsoft became Oak Intranet, a cloud-based Intranet platform. In January 2020, Oak Intranet secured £2.1m of funding the investment was led by Maven Capital Partners following a restructure of the North East's leadership team in July 2019, led by CEO Will Murray. Now known as Oak Engage, their customers include brands such as Aldi, Five Guys, and Halfords. In 2019, Oak Engage was recognised as one of the most exciting technology companies in the North East Tech 50 by BusinessCloud.
