Numb to Life

Numb to Life is an unreleased documentary exploring pharmaceutical drug abuse. It is the first feature documentary by Jason Cook. The release date is forthcoming.
Synopsis
The film opens with an exploration of drug use throughout history, beginning with the discovery of opium in 5000 bc, and tracking the evolution of drugs to today. Legal and Illicit drugs are not separated into different categories. Instead, the film argues that a drug is any substance designed to chemically alter our bodies, regardless of classification by law. This neutral perspective is used unilaterally to analyze the entire drug enterprise - especially the recent phenomenon of non-medical abuse of pharmaceutical drugs.
Oxycontin, Adderall, and Ketek are used as case studies to illustrate the problems that these very powerful drugs are causing. It follows the life of both dealers and pharmacists, junkies and patients, again demonstrating how the lines are blurred.
