NRIs Non Resident Indians

NRIs Non Resident Indians is a first American/Punjabi film produced by a team of first generation Punjabi youth living in a California. For the first time the story follows the first generation Indian American teenagers who face challenges involving love, betrayal, friendship, pride and family issues all while dealing with the dilemmas of working class Society. The main character Depa, is moving into a new home, where he constantly deals with the struggle of living in two contrasting cultures. Everyday he faces the predicament of finding the right balance between the surrounding culture and his fathers preserved Indian Ideology. Living on the same block are TJ, Summon and Raj, who also face similar cultural-clashes. Different attitudes and mindsets which are conditioned by their immigrant parents, leads each individual into a different place in society. Each character is caught between two conflicting worlds, with different sets of customs, religion, morals, lifestyle and social expectations. It is Bigboii Productions first release which is an independent film production company with a personal artistic perception to produce and direct feature films that enlightens the mind.
Combining Asian Indian roots with Western street culture, Bigboii Production is dedicated in bringing forward new visions which will break through the typical bollywood clutter and deliver films that challenges one to think outside the box.
The film is getting ready to be screened in select cities around the world in Summer 2013.

The background music is composed by Kevin Macleod along with various artists/generes which consists of Rap, Punjabi, Hindi, Remixes, Pop.
