Noventri is a division of Specialized Communications Corporation and is a digital signage solutions provider and manufacturer located in Smithsburg, Maryland. Specialized Communications Corporation was established in 1980 in Northern Ohio. The name Noventri, was given to the digital signage division in 2005 and serves primarily the hospitality and entertainment industry. Philosophy Noventri’s philosophy toward digital signage content carries a less than mainstream slant. Rather than the heavy use of video, Noventri touts "simple is better" and their digital signage relies on the use of high-definition stills and creative transitions to capture viewers and relay messages. They are well-known for their "Off-White Paper" and [http://www.noventri.com/eco/pdf/Digital-Signage-Hardware-Power-Consumption.pdf "Is Going Green With Digital Signage Really Green?"]. History In 1980 a few engineers started working in the repair and maintenance of broadcast video equipment. Between 1985 and 1987 the company grew and moved to Hagerstown, Maryland where it became incorporated and specialized in Betacam SP and MII repair and maintenance. The company worked closely with Panasonic, Sony and JVC. In December of 2002 the company created a solution that utilized a digital signage software by Harris Corporation. It was intended for cable head-ends as an information channel product. This product found its place outside of the broadcast industry for use as a digital signage player and was soon named SignFlash and marketed as such. In 2003 Specialized Communications Corporation moved to a larger facility in Smithsburg, Maryland and two years later a new division, Noventri, was established to handle the digital signage sector. In 2007, the SignFlash player name was changed to the SF-3000 Digital Media Player. In 2008 Noventri adds the SF-100A to the SF Series of digital signage players. The Eco-Series SF-100e was launched in 2009. This player addressed low-energy usage. Noventri introduced its first digital signage software, Noventri Suite and Noventri Server, at this time. Today Noventri is an international digital signage solutions provider, manufacturer, and consultant with resellers throughout the U.S. and distributors in Europe.
