Noah Giansiracusa is an American mathematician and data scientist, and an associate professor of mathematics at Bentley University. Education Giansiracusa received a B.S. in mathematics from University of Washington and a Ph.D. in mathematics from Brown University in 2011, under the supervision of Dan Abramovich. His dissertation explored the moduli space of pointed rational normal curves. Career After receiving his Ph.D., Giansiracusa held postdoctoral positions at University of Zurich and U.C. Berkeley and then tenure-track positions at University of Georgia and Swarthmore College prior to his current position at Bentley University. In addition to research in pure mathematics, Giansiracusa has authored over a dozen opinion articles in outlets including TIME, Scientific American, Washington Post, Wired, and Boston Globe. He has also made guest appearances on CNN and BBC radio. In his public writing and speaking, Giansiracusa focuses on data-driven algorithms and their societal impacts. Selected publications * *
