Daniel Bear

Dr. Daniel Bear is a Professor at Humber College. His research focus is on street level policing and the role of officers in modern anti-drugs efforts and community policing. He completed his PhD in social policy at the London School of Economics, spending a year alongside street-level Met officers collecting data.
Education
Dr. Bear has a PhD in Social Policy from the London School of Economics and Political Science, and is affiliated with the Mannheim Centre for Criminology. His doctoral work focused on understanding the impact of adaptive policing responses to drugs policy as implemented by street-level officers. Dr. Bear focuses on ethnography and drug policy related research, and facets of criminal justice policy, including street-level policing, community policing, policy impacts, and police culture.
