Nischal Shetty is the founder and CEO of WazirX, a cryptocurrency exchange based in India. He was in the Forbes 30 under 30 list in 2014. He is a software engineer who built the Knightloader app. The application helped in downloading files at night, when internet was free without the person being present. He worked with Burrp in 2008 and started working on Crowdfire part time. He founded Crowdfire, a social media management company in February 2010. He is also a member of the Blockchain and Crypto Council, under the Internet and Mobile Association of India. The Council fought for lifting the ban placed by the Reserve Bank of India on providing cryptocurrency exchanges with a bank account. He started the hashtag #IndiaWantsCrypto on 31 October 2018 tweeting at lawmakers in India for positive regulation of cryptocurrency in India. WazirX is India's largest cryptocurrency exchange. In 2019, Binance acquired WazirX.
