Nima Soltani

Nima Soltani is an American/Iranian Master Weaver, and it is claimed he is the only Master Weaver in the United States. He is the owner of Passion of Persia, which makes, restores, and fixes Persian Rugs and other antiquities. After serving in the United States Marine Corps Soltani attended the University of Tehran and the University of Isfahan, graduating as a certified Master Weaver.
Career
After graduation, he moved back to the United States, where he followed in his fathers footsteps, taking over Passion of Persia. Nima Soltani had first realized his talent for rug repair at age 10, while helping his father repair a rug, which the family dog at chewed. He has since gained notice amongst collectors of Persian, Navajo, and Turkish carpets, for his ability to clean and restore rugs. Master weaver Soltani has been trusted to care for rugs 100 years old to 1000 years old. Offering a level of expertise in restoring art.
Soltani has been hired by the Museum of Fine Rugs in Tehran, Iran, and the Musee de la Tapisserie de Bayeux in France to train their restoration professionals in the art of carpet restoration. The Smithsonian also called on Nima to put together a rug the institution borrowed a large 20 X 50 rug from a collection in St. Petersburg, Russia. Because of its size the rug had to be disassembled into sections for transport.
