6th Annual Nilsson Awards for Film ---- Best Film: Atonement The 6th Annual Nilsson Awards for Film honored the best film making of 2007. The Nilsson Awards honor the best in Film, Television, and Music. The nominees and winners are configured by prominent critics responses and a team of experienced peoples in the business. The last six announcements have only been for film, but as of 2008 they will branch out to include music and television. The nominated movies follow similar nominations in the Academy Awards and the Golden Globe Awards. The Nilsson awards were started by Curtis Dunn, also known as C.D. Nilsson. These awards have been known to not follow the same lines as the Academy Awards or other award ceremonies like the Golden Globes and the Baftas, for example, at the Nilsson awards No Country for Old Men only had 2 nominations and no wins, while at the Academy Awards it won Best Picture. The Nilsson Awards parties usually go for the underdog, in the most recent announcement Across the Universe had 9 nominations and won 4 awards including Best Director, while at the Academy Awards it was only nominated for 1 caategory. The last announcement was in February, the 6th Annual Nilsson Awards for Film.
