Nick VanderLaan

Nicholas James "Nick" VanderLaan (born October 27, 1979) is an American former professional basketball player who most notably played in the NBA Summer League for the Golden State Warriors and the NBA D-League for the Los Angeles D-Fenders.
College career
As a freshman at the University of California at Berkeley, VanderLaan started 16 games and was named Honorable Mention All-Pac-10 Freshman, averaging 8.5 points and 6.7 rebounds.
VanderLaan later transferred to the University of Virginia and played during the 2002-2003 Season.
In 2003 VanderLaan transferred again, to Concordia University, Irvine, where he led the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.1 points and 11.6 rebounds, and was named Golden State Athletic Conference Player of the Year and All-American First Team for the 2003-2004 season. Later that year, VanderLaan led Concordia to the .
Professional career
VanderLaan was not selected in the 2004 NBA Draft, and was picked to play on the Golden State Warriors NBA Summer League team.
He played in the ABA with the Long Beach Jam (2004.)
VanderLaan played in the CBA with the Idaho Stampede (2005) and with the Butte Daredevils (2006-2007). While playing for the Daredevils, VanderLaan started 43 games and averaged 13.0 points and a league-leading 11.3 rebounds. VanderLaan was named CBA All-Star and CBA All-League Second Team.
He played for the Los Angeles D-Fenders in the NBA D-League (2007) averaging 12.6 points and 12.4 rebounds.
He also played professionally in Spain with Bàsquet Manresa (2007) and won the LEB Gold Championship.
In 2007, VanderLaan was selected to the New Jersey Nets 2007 NBA Summer League Roster.
In November 2007, VanderLaan suffered an injury ending his professional and playing career.
Coaching career
For the 2010-2011 season VanderLaan was an Assistant Coach for his alma mater, Concordia University Irvine and compiled a 32-4 record.
Off the court
In 2009 VanderLaan started Legacy Precious Metals, Inc. which specialized in dealer to dealer sales of precious metals and certified rare coins. In 2011 VanderLaan founded and launched Goldmart.com and is the current president.
