Next Serbian parliamentary election

Parliamentary elections must be held in Serbia by May 2016, but as of late January 2014, two of the largest parties in the governing coalition have called for a snap election to be held in March 2014.
Background
In January 2014 the Serbian Progressive Party, the largest party in the ruling coalition, stated that it would be calling for early elections to be held. Despite speculation that he would oppose an early election, on January 27 Prime Minister Ivica Dacic joined in the call for early elections, to be held March 16. The request will be presented to President Tomislav Nikolic, who has the authority to call an early election.
