New Starship is a planned non-profit museum dedicated presenting to the public a replica of the as seen on the science fiction television program Star Trek: The Next Generation. Although the original bridge film set was destroyed during production of the 1994 feature film Star Trek: Generations, a Paramount Pictures-made replica was created as a touring attraction under the supervision of Herman Zimmerman and Michael Okuda, and components of that venture are being restored and complemented by new creations for the New Starship project under the direction of Huston Huddleston, a Hollywood-based comedic writer. While not officially affiliated with Star Trek or its corporate parents, New Starship has secured approval for the creation and operation of an admission-free, donation-funded public museum.
