Headquarted in Curitiba, Brazil, Neodent manufactures and sells surgical, restorative and regenerative solutions for oral health. Recently, it became part of the Straumann Group, one of the leading companies in its industry, employing approximately 2.400 people worldwide with products available in more than 70 countries through their own distribution subsidiaries and broad network of distribution partners. History 1991 - Dr. Geninho Thomé starts to conduct studies aiming on developing national dental implants with similar quality materials than imported options - only alternative at the time - at affordable costs and with simplified surgical techniques. 1993 - Neodent is born, with only one employee, it started production of dental implants and instruments at a small site in Curitiba, Paraná, Brazil. 1997 - The industrial team, now composed of nine members and more advanced CNC lathes, is now operating in a rented industrial shed. 1998 - Neodent moves to its own office, with an additional achievement: its products were now recognized by the brazilian health government, being the first brazilian company to achieve this level of certification in the dental implants industry. Production capacity was of 20.000 items a year. 2001 - The factory goes under remodeling for extension of production lines. 2006 - Neodent opens its first international subsidiary in Lisbon, Portugal. 2009 - Neodent industrial park is now occupying 14.000 square meters on a 50.000 square meters site, equipped with highest technology machinery and high-precision digital quality control, allowing new products development and production capacity. With more than 300 employees on three production turns, Neodent is now producing uninterruptedly more than 1.000 portfolio items among dental implants, prosthetic components (abutments) and surgical instruments. 2012 - Straumann Group - one of the world leading companies in oral health - acquires 49% of Neodent shares, extending its activities into the value market and starting a strong commercial and scientific partnership. 2013 - Neodent celebrates 20 years with a new slogan: excellence and innovation. 2015 - Straumann Group acquires 100% of Neodent shares. Dr. Geninho Thomé remains at the company as Scientific President. International expansion plans are accelerated with subsidiaries in Canada, Colombia and Argentina. Sales go over 1.000.000 units a year. Today - Neodent goes under a complete rebranding, aiming on growing its share of the brazilian market and gaining territory overseas, with two more subsidiaries planned for 2017, Germany and France.
