Nekros Kidemonas

== Nekros Kidemonas- Greek.
Literal translation- Dead Guardian. ==

The title Nekros Kidemonas (or Guardian of the Dead), is an old and almost forgotten one. In mythological terms (though not necessarily Greek mythology), it is said that Entropy, for which no mythology has name, lived inside the person or beast bearing the name.

In this tale the being holding Entropy is thought to be a deity himself, normally going by the name Rekhyt. In the different "Time Phases" this being is said to appear in different physical forms. It is most common to see him as an angel with black wings and dark skin, due to the shadow that emits from his pores. It is said that this shadow is the wrath of the dead, and that a plague follows in his wake. It is also believed that he was at one point in Egyptian mythology, although not worshiped as a god due to the fact that the Egyptians already had both a deity of entropy and one of the dead.

The assumed nekros kidemonas goes through horrible trials. The easiest is always the first, dying three nights in a row to console with the souls in the Land of the Dead to learn of their troubles...and soon to experience them himself. On the last night of his death, the third, he feels all the pain of the dead, and experiences every pain that every soul once experienced, held in timelessness until this is complete. This is said to strengthen his own soul, and provide him more room to be worked through by Entropy.

The next few trials are small, but terrible in their own right. First the Guardian will experience change in vision, allowing him to see on other planes. Although an amazing ability, at first it is extremely uncontrollable, and at points the Guardian may be trapped in one planesight for a large amount of time. This normally begins to happen at the immediate end of the Death. However, although stable once mastered, it is the hardest of the sense changing to control, taking in some cases decades. At any point after the Planesight begins, the Guardians hearing, already enhanced, will sharpen and allow higher pitched and other normally undetectable noises. It can also be useful because the souls of the dead can call the Guardian if there is ever crisis, but it is mainly for the Guardian's own protection against the higher beings of this dimension. It progresses quickly and is mastered upon days of it's appearance. The third altered sense is touch. The Guardian can feel things like heat and chill levels, as well as detect poison in a body. This, although having no ill effect for the Guardian, is hard to master and may sometimes give false impressions upon newly developing. Smell is also enhanced greatly, to the point where the Guardian can smell any scent for almost five hundred miles. Once Planesight is mastered, the Guardian can also see certain scent patterns, similar to the trait found in wolves. The sense of smell, much like the enhancement in hearing, is extremely easy to master. Once combining with Planesight, though, may cause extreme migraines, fainting, and in some cases lessening of the Planesight ability.

In the final trial, it is said that the Guardian is challenged by his own emotions, and possibly a betrayal of those close to him. The Guardian will most commonly become extremely angry or emotionally hurt, and therefore physically defensive, by even the slightest of the wrong words. Emotions like hatred and sadness, however, are actually lessened, and this is thought to be a side-effect of Entropy. Emotions like happiness and love are crucial, because the Guardian is less likely to turn on himself, and therefore others, if he is pleased or content.
However, the emotion changes do fade, on average they only last three days.

Once past all of the trials, the Guardian is officially titled and is allowed certain benefits that are not recorded in any history, simply labeled as 'impressive side-effects'.
