National Operation Anti-Vivisection

National Operation Anti-Vivisection (NOAV) is a United Kingdom-based British animal rights network which campaigns against animal experiments. The group was established in October 2014.
Student Vivisectors Campaign
NOAV attracted media attention in October 2014 for a poster campaign which offers students money for information about colleagues that conduct experiments on animals. According to the network the information will be used to “contact students conducting experiments and explain the reasons (scientific and ethical) for using human relevant methods rather than animal testing.”
According to the network if this contact fails then those conducting experiments will be 'named and shamed' so that 'social pressure' can be applied to them. They say however that they will not be disclosing any personal addresses or phone numbers that they receive, as their approach is based on 'social as opposed to physical pressure'.
However, Tom Holder from animal experimentation advocacy group Speaking of Research said “It is these sorts of actions which can force brilliant minds out of the life sciences out of fear.”
AstraZeneca Campaign
British-Swedish pharmaceutical multinational AstraZeneca is planning to build a £330m headquarters and R&D centre in the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.
According to NOAV this site will include an animal laboratory. NOAV claim they will try to stop AstraZeneca from opening this site 'by all lawful means'.
The campaign includes a Secondary Targets list which the network asks it's supporters to target with 'lawful protest'. This lists any organisation connected to the construction project including the Cambridge University Archaeology Department that are conducting an archaeological dig necessary as part of the planning process.
