Natasha Wescoat

Natasha Wescoat (born January 18) is a pop artist and illustrator based in Saginaw, Michigan best known for her whimsical art. Her artwork can be found in private and corporate collections worldwide. Her collectors include people of all ages. Her work has been featured in television and hollywood films. In Fall 2006, her art was seen on ABC’s Extreme Makeover Home Edition. In 2007, Natasha was named “Emerging Artist and Trendsetter” by Art Business News, the largest trade publication in the U.S. Natasha uses social media and technology to build relationships with her art community as well as share her art with the world. Her experience in technology has offered her opportunities to contribute to several artists, businesses, and communities on marketing and social media applications. Biography
She is the daughter of a computer technician and artist, Wescoat grew up in Michigan. Her teenage life was dedicated to the creation and organization of young local creative groups involved in music and drama, for which she did writing and production work. In school she participated local, state, and national art competitions that won her top prizes. While studying design at Delta College in 2004, she started her own art business, through the utilization of internet auctions such as eBay and through the artist program at Art.com. Not long after, her art rose in popularity, with already 500 original artworks sold by 2005.

Wescoat has become part of many projects in film and publishing. In October 15, 2006, Wescoat's art was part of a special Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, and in 2007, the art education company, Abrakadoodle began offering classes on Natasha Wescoat's work. In Spring 2007, Art Business News named her as an Emerging Artist and Trendsetter. An interview with the artist will be featured in an upcoming publication of the Artist and Graphic Designers Market 2008 book, and her art will be seen on the upcoming movie "Marley & Me".
Other Artist Facts
Natasha uses acrylics and inks to create her works and often cites influences by Warhol, Klimt, and Kawasaki for her inspirations in whimsical design. Her work has evolved from modern abstracts to whimsical illustrations, inspiring several media of work but is most well known works are the Jeweled Trees series, Garden series, and Natasha Goes Pop! series.
