Namassej Samaj Andolon

Namassej Samaj Andolon is a social awareness and reformation movement claiming to represent those people in India who are presently referred to as Namasudra in Govt of India documents. Their main demand is that the "sudra" tag is to be removed as bashing term and the half-adopted mythological identity be changed to "Namassej".The Namasudras were an outcaste in the Hindu religion. This name was accomodated in Govt. documents of British India in 1911.But it started on the note of descent by Guruchand Thakur and C.S.Mead against naming them by a term tagged with "sudra" and the movement was alive till 1937.After that the whole scenario changed due to division of British India which resulted in two independent countries India and Pakistan ; the last one being further got splitting into two.
Then there was several proposals , all being new , which include writer like Academician A.K.Biswas ,Dr. U.N. Biswas ,Dr.Debijyoti Roy .These articles were published and written on-line pages. And at the same time or few years earlier some on-line free editing writings appeared proposing the same mythology but changing the name as "Namassej" with the basis of two view points , first one proposing ( this is also on-line) a complete guide-line and a origin theory which includes all rleigion's influence namely, Hindu(vaishnab sect & Matua sect) ,Buddhism , Chritanity and Brahmo sect of Hinduism or Upanishadic thoughts. But there was no forum or community web-page supporting the proposed "Namassej" term and the second view point being same as the old one , originated from "Namas" only deleting the "sudra" tag and adding sreej> ssej .
In November ,2011 the only community portal having its own web-page adopted this name in respect of the discussion on their web page .This came out to be the only option : even though it is a tribe as proposed by some scholar the term may be taken as the name of the tribe without hurting the sentiment of the community .Thus started the Namassej Samaj Andolon. It is a grievance of this community till the days of King Ballal Sen.
At present their registered members is more than hundred but they have a great number of followers who are not registered to the website.
