The Kalifa is the hereditary position in Nagore Dargah, like Sajjada Nasheen and Gaddi Nasheen and also Trustee is the hereditary in Nagore Dargah ( Dargah Scheme decreed by Madras High Court ). Role and duties * The Kalifa is the Chief of all Religious ceremonies in Nagore Dargah throughout the year, like Dargah Events Muharram, Ashura, Milad un Nabi, Gyarvi sharif - Ghouse Pak Fathiha, Qadir Wali Urus Mubarak Festival * Kalifa in Sufism is commonly referred to the leading follower in Sufi order. His office is called Kalifat. * In Nagore Dargah, The Nagore Dargah Kalifa not only Heads the Religious ceremonies in the Dargah but also Conducts the Religious Ceremonies by himself. * Particularly in Nagore Dargah, during the Urus / Death Anniversary, the Current Kalifa is the only authorized person to apply sandal over the holy tomb.<ref name=":11" /> |
