Mystery Tree of Arizona is a juniper tree that defies wildfires in Arizona Found in the median of Interstate 17, just south of the Badger Springs Rd exit, a single Juniper tree stands that has become a symbol of hope for those passing by. At Christmastime, the evergreen tree changes. Ornaments and a star are added, becoming a symbol of the joy of the season. Also, for the 4th of July, decorations of a more patriotic theme are added to the defiant tree. No one knows who does it, thus the "mystery". One evening the decorations go on, and after the holiday they come down. Currently, the Mystery Tree, as it has become known to locals, is decorated with yellow ribbons and U.S. flags in unity with our men and women in military service. Being located in the dry climate of the desert, this tree has withstood many wildfires and still stands unsinged. Some believe that this tree may have a heavenly protector. The Mystery Tree stands at 34.218068, -112.111233.
