MyPaint is a free software digital painting application designed for use with a graphics tablet. It is programmed in Python and , and uses widget toolkit. It works on free Unix-like operating systems such as Linux, and also on Microsoft Windows and OS X. The focus is on creating digital drawings from scratch, and it facilitates this with a simple user interface and expressive brushes. In contrast to many other programs used for painting like GIMP or Photoshop, MyPaint does not include many features for editing images. Notable features include: unlimited canvas size, multiple layer support and custom brushes. MyPaint is the only application released that saves to the OpenRaster (.ora) file format by default.
