Mylifeisdesi

Mylifeisdesi.com (MLID) is a social blog functioning as a medium for the South Asian population to come together and share their experiences. Desi refers to the people of South Asian descent including countries such as Pakistan, India, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. Mylifeisdesi.com was founded in June 15th 2009 by two young entrepreneurs. The website has provided many South Asians to connect on issues that are similar in every Desi household. Although, initially assumed to draw criticism due to the volatility of the South Asian region, it provides an opportunity for the Desi youth to understand how the cultures are very similar but unique at the same time. The website has reached over 160 different countries, averaging 15,000 views a day. The website attracts 300-500 submissions daily to be approved and posted on the website .

Founders

Bilal Memon and Usman Ahmed founded MyLifeIsDesi in 2009. They are both undergraduates. Bilal attends New York University majoring in Finance and International Business. Usman attends Rutgers University majoring in Finance and Mathematics.
