MIU (Movement for Israeli Urbanism) Is an Israeli non-profit organization established in 2004 which today has more than 500 members including city planners, architects, academics and planners, working to promote the norms of sustainable urban planning for New Urbanism. This is the only organization in Israel today that focuses on changing the built environment and urban development policies and acts of professional tools necessary to make a change. The association organizes national conferences and exhibitions and processes involved in city planning and public sharing. Association in 2009 established the laboratory of urban empowerment. and the Mayors Institute whose function is to improve the relationship of the mayors and the residents for making decisions on planning and construction. And in 2010 launched a new postage Stamp issue for New Urbanism in Israel. In recent years, tightening the connection between the MIU and green organizations and the Israeli Ministry of Environment to share the public awareness improved quality of life in cities and areas green. MIU is located in Tel Aviv and running a public forum in Haifa.
