Motithang Higher Secondary School
Motithang Higher Secondary School (est. 1975) is a highly reputed school located in Thimphu. the capital of Bhutan. The school since it was established has had many students graduating in the top of the whole country.
Education
The school is open for any students from grades 9 to 10, but to be admitted into higher education of grades 11 and 12, a student must have scored higher than a required mark to be accepted into the school. The school has excellent teachers as well as faculty. Many subjects are taught in the school such as English, Physics, Chemistry, Biology and Mathematics just to name a few. The school also has a weekly physical education program that lets students get out of the class and enjoy some physical activities. The medium of instruction is English except for classes where the national language of Bhutan, Dzongkha is taught.
Achievements
Motithang Higher Secondary School has produced many outstanding graduates who have moved on to achieve even greater heights in their individual lives. In the 2011 nation wide examinations of grade 12, three of the top three position holders were all students from Motithang Higher Secondary School. The Ministry of Education has also introduced a new system to rank schools in bhutan called the Performance Management System (PMS). This system uses three criterion to determine whether a school is good or not. Motithang high School is ranked third in all of Bhutan just below Tashitse Higher Secondary School in Trashigang and Yangchenphu Higher Secondary School in Thimphu.
