More than Weird

'More than Weird is a 1987 Canadian science fiction young adult novel by English-Canadian author Martyn Godfrey.
Plot summary
Cory Johnson, an average teenager in Dawson Creek, meets a blonde girl named Susie who claims to be an android from 550 years in the future. She wants to take Cory back to the future to put him in a human zoo, precisely because he is so average. Cory does not believe her initially, but she puts him to sleep with her finger and he wakes up convinced that she is a robot. This is proven as he drives away; Susie pulls on his departing car and her arm is ripped off, but she simply reattaches it.
Cory goes to his friend Chuck for help. Chuck suggests that Cory hide at his summer cabin in Seba Beach, Alberta. Cory does so, but Susie finds him again, trying to convince him to return to the future with her, and again puts him to sleep with her finger. When Cory wakes, Susie again tells him how wonderful the future will be, but Cory is not convinced to go. Susie and Cory then walk outside and walk towards a lake. Susie takes the buckle off her belt, saying that it is a temporal pulsar which will create a small time warp, a window into the future. Cory, who does not want to go, tricks Susie and she falls into the lake. When he looks at the time gate, another robot like Susie appears, but he closes it in time.
Cory tries to drive away from Seba Beach, but his car dies down. He goes into cabins looking for weapons with which to defend himself and is discovered by a police officer. Cory tries to explain himself, but the officer is not convinced. Cory gives the officer the buckle-pulsar, the officer twists it, and the time gate appears. Suddenly, Susie comes to the cabin, startling the two. The policeman thinks Susie and Cory are robbing the place, but Susie attempts to put him to sleep and he accidentally shoots her. When he sees there's no blood, he and Cory take his police car to escape, with Susie following. She eventually goes back to the future to repair herself. Cory keeps the buckle-pulsar, knowing that he can use it if he ever wants to go the future.
