Moody Street Pictures was founded by John MacNeil, a long-time cameraman, founder of Boston Film Factory and co-owner of Boston Camera. At first called "Exile Films," the company changed its name to Moody Street Pictures in 2003. In February 2008 Boston Camera Rental co. merged with Rule Broadcast to create the largest motion picture and television equipment rental company in the northeast. As a founding member of the Massachusetts Production Coalition, John MacNeil was instrumental in the passage of recent Massachusetts transferable tax-credits worth up to 25% of total media production spend on television and film production work performed in Massachusetts. In 2006 Moody Independent was founded to focus on exclusively on Independent films. MI continues under the management of Mark Donadio and Miriam Marcus. In 2014 Moody Street Pictures spun out Moody Street TV. At MSTV Timothy Egan will continue as Chief Marketing Officer and take on an Executive Producer role. Steve Sera will continue as VP Of Operations and add the Executive Producer role as well. Moody StreetTV will also expand its relationship with Bob Sylvester of 3BMedia. Bob and 3BMedia will now serve as a strategic partner, with Bob bringing his writer/producer/editor and reality development skills to broadcast content ventures. In the restructuring, Moody StreetTV has expanded its marketing efforts beyond Massachusetts and Rhode Island to include New Hampshire and Vermont, utilizing talent and media outlets throughout New England.
