Montessori on the iPad

With the introduction of the Apple iPad in 2010 applications claiming to replicate Montessori methods have become popular in the App store on iTunes. Materials and activities such as, the pink tower, movable alphabet and sandpaper numerals can be manipulated on the iPad to teach children various skills. Despite criticism of their lack of concrete interfaces, Apple has heavily promoted these applications in television commercials and within the App store itself.
Pink Tower Application
The Pink Tower application allows users to assemble up to twelve patterns by touching the cubes in sequential order. The app has been featured by Apple all over the world via iTunes' "What's Hot", "New and Noteworthy", and "Simulation" categories.
